Effect of Post-Activation Potentiation on Sprint Performance after Combined Electromyostimulation and Back Squats

چکیده
Post-activation potentiation (PAP) is a phenomenon which can improve force performance executed after previous conditioning activity. PAP usually evoked through heavy resistance, but many new methods are being suggested that acutely in post-activation protocols. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect simultaneous application Smith machine back squats (BS) with electromyostimulation (EMS) on sprint performance. Sixteen male (age = 22.9 ± 2.3 years, body mass 79.9 13.8 kg, BS one-repetition maximum (1 RM) 120.5 17.3) amateur football and rugby players volunteered for study. Participants randomly performed protocols (CON no load, 3 × 85% 1 RM BS, EMS weightless squat electric current + current) four different days at least 48 h intervals. rested passively 7 min preloads 30 m test. Sprint times 10 were recorded each condition. As result, significant difference found (p 0.13) 0.10) between preload size be trivial (ηp2: 0.13 m; ηp2: 0.11 m). In individual results, five participants two decreased EMS, or conditions compared CON. No other observed. conclusion, did not affect players. It said applied physical exertion alone may cause fatigue some individuals.

Introduction and purpose: Post-activation potentiation (PAP) is the phenomenon by which muscular performance is enhanced in response to a conditioning stimulus. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of PAP induced by resisted, accelerated and traditional plyometric with and without caffeine ingestion on competitive judokas performance. Post-activation Potentiation in Moderately Heavy Squats following a Heavy Pre-load Squat
Post-activation potentiation (PAP) is a phenomenon where force output is acutely enhanced following muscular contraction. Previous research has documented enhanced performance in power-type light exercise following a heavy pre-load, such as vertical jumps following heavy squats. To date, the effect of PAP on moderately heavy exercise following a heavy pre-load has not been investigated. Purpose...
